This book by Ingrid Law is worth a try: Mibs is turning thirteen... normal, right? However, she is also getting her "savvy" that day: a supernatural power that strikes with chaos. Can she survive?
I enjoyed it because it had a unique down to earth feeling to it. Ingrid Law also made the plot come alive under her influence of many rich details. Warning: This book just might make your heart melt.
