Poem: Till the World Ends

source
When the world ends
I will sit on the beach watching the tide come in.
I’d build a sand castle for my mother, symbolizing all that ever was,
Is and could have been.
We’d remember fading memories so they might be preserved for tomorrow,
And cry since it’s already too late.
I wish we had been better for each other.

~

The ocean rushes in and out, a live eternal thing.
With so many creations stories of the world beginning from the sea,
Is it not just as possible the world will fall the same way?
Drowned down to its depths, clinging to the sand and being washed away
Like kelp on the shore.
