The Teenage Blogosphere is BACK!

4 comments:
So for a while there I completely neglected it as it just got too much but now I promise to devote one hour of every week to it. Basically this blog is a list of blogs with two links. One of those links goes directly to your blog while the other will take the reader to the post about your blog.
If you want your blog to be featured all you have to do is email a description of your blog along with a button (if you have one) and/or the header of your blog. Also it is very important to include labels you would like, but please do not use labels like awesome/ red/ Rihanna. Those will not be used. Preferably ones like Books/ food/ beauty/ lifestyle.
For more information visit HERE

There is even a Blog Button Now!

I do hope you will want to be part of it!

Sweet Hearts

1 comment:
Happy Valentines!  Whether your madly in love or a single pringle, here's a recipe for some heart shaped cookies.
Ingredients
50g unsalted butter
75g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
150g plain flour
25g dark chocolate ~melted and cooling
More chocolate to decorate

Method
1. Preheat oven to 180*C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Put butter, sugar and egg yolk in a bowl and beat well. Stir in flour and then knead until smooth.
3. Divide the dough in half, then knead the melted chocolate into one half until it is evenly coloured.
4. Roll out chocolate dough between two sheets of baking parchment, to a thickness about 3mm. Then roll out plain dough in same way.
5. Cut out hearts for both doughs using different sized cutters. Place a light-coloured heart in the centre of a larger chocolate heart and vice-versa.
6. Bake for about 10 minutes and leave cool.
7. To decorate, melt chocolate and put into a piping bag or sandwich bag and snip the end. Carefully pipe dots or zigzags. Leave to set.
Happy Valentines

Guilty as charged

3 comments:
Here is a poem I wrote recently. Please tell me what you think.

Guilty as charged

Oh my tummy be quiet

This is not another diet

This is your fault for yearning

such a delicious yummy craving

The chocolate was sweet and creamy

The icing melt in the mouth

And now we’re both suffering

And you keep shouting

“Oh please just one more bite”

But I’ve made up my mind

Nothing but a lemon rind

And maybe some salad

To go with that ballad

It’s a new year

And I promise you this

No more cake for us

No sir not a bit

But Easter is only up the hill

And I’m running out of will

For the shop is gloating

With it’s chocolate egg coating

And me, poor me in despair

That is it, I give up

Call the cops, I’m guilty

But remember this and remember it true

Life needs some frosting and so do you

Tiny Dancer ~ for Lily Mae

2 comments:
This song is remake of Elton's John's "Tiny Dancer".  200 people sang their hearts out, all for a little 4 year old girl, Lily Mae, who has Neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer of the Nervous system.
This song has already reached no. 1 in the Irish itunes chart.
Hopefully it will be a Christmas hit around the world!

I was really emotional after watching the video and listening to the power coming from all those voices. I hope you get the chance to listen to it.
Sending our best wishes to Lily Mae!

Our life in shoes

2 comments:
To some people shoes are just merely a covering for two feet. Clunky things that hold them hostage. The first things to be flung into the corner after a day of school.
Even though this is true to me too, I feel they are so much more than that. Remember your first pair? You were just a little child, still probably couldn't pronounce "shoes" not to mind "stilettos". You were being influenced by shoes all around you. Where would Cinderella be without her glass slippers? As you vigorously moved on to your black school shoes favouring the ballet pumps but compromised with the parents only to get the doll that was hidden in the sole. As you grew, your feet grew and so did your pile of shoes. Strutting around in your big sis's heels and accidentally snapping them then hiding them way under her bed, acting all innocent. Those football boots you wore as your team won while you looked on from the sidelines. Then came converse and they were a must!
Face the facts: Shoes are a part or your life. They can tell so much about the person. They have been with you through rain, hail, sleet or snow. Thick and thin.
This is our life in shoes!

The Way We Live

3 comments:
I'm stepping out of my comfort zone here. Writing a poem that is. I'm not so good at this kind of thing but I my as well share it with you anyway.

The Way We Live
I am just like you,
Minute at the beginning of time,
Cared for and loved,
Unable to talk, just a mime.

'Adventure outside,
Arms open, innocently waving.
You smile at me.
I am getting tall now, growing.

Innocent no more,
You have seen the ways of the world.
I stand up tall,
Powerful, taking up all the spotlight.

I see it all now;
We have been mean, cruel and ugly.
You cut me down,
My bark and leaves no more, Gone.

Dabbling with Art

2 comments:
I know some people are incredibly talented at art, while others will swear it's their weakest point. It shouldn't matter whether you are or aren't good at it, It's if you like and enjoy it.
I love drawing, painting, creating or just doodling in my maths copy!
Here's my latest doodle (although it's not from my maths copy just a scrap of paper) and painting:

So what do you think?
Advice and criticism gladly appreciated
