Hello, everyone!

No comments:
I don't know how much of an "everyone" there is for this blog, but I'm sure there's at least a "someone", and if there's one someone than that's an "everyone"-- everyone who is included in that "someone"-- so I'll say "everyone" all the same.
That said... hello, everyone! I'm Sasha, and I'm new to Blog for Joy. I am 14 years old and I live in California. I really like to write, play my clarinet, act in plays, and take photographs. I have two personal blogs, www.thinkingwritinggirl.blogspot.com and www.sashaspictures.blogspot.com. I am very excited about contributing to Blog for Joy, because it's one of the sweetest websites I've seen in a while. Browsing this blog for the first time did indeed make me very joyful.

Poem: Inspiration for an Apple Poem

2 comments:
I lay against the fence, eating a solitary apple.
Behind it is a run-down building,
With faded bricks and a pallid chimney rising out of it.
The yard’s is as unkept,
A mixture of giant dandelions, grasses and garbage.
There is but nothing but a bent-over tree, an exotic for this area.
It had sun-dapple leaves, bark marred like scales,
Low slender branches that stoop over the wild field and sway in the wind like vines.
Dead leaves fall from it like tears.
Small birds sing in its frail shelter, singing birds with black breasts.
Pigeons peck in the brown earth,
Their foolish gray eclipsed by night feathers.
Discarded plastic bags billow like butterflies.
In the smell of mulch and dead stalks, I created this poem:

The Earth’s an apple.
The top and bottom curves are the north and south poles.
The seeds are the core’s metal.
The flesh is magma.
The skin is the surface,
The eaten parts are oceans.
The world’s an apple.

Poem: Brazilian Dolphins

No comments:
Well, what did you know? I'm mimicking the pattern of a "The Lion King" picture book with sound effects. Basically, it's written like this: He jumped over the hyenas. He ROARED. (Here you press the roar button.)

The DOLPHINS play.
I hear THEM AT NIGHT.
THEY’RE Brazilian creatures, submerged thousands of miles inland
In the AMAZON RIVER.
They never see BLUE WATER,
Unbreaking OCEAN.
MUD is their BLOOD.
They swim in the shades of TREES,
And they never see the SKY.

Instead of SEAGULLS, they have MONKEYS.

Bonjour!

As you may have guessed already, my name is Stacy. I'm from Sweets Galore and I'm going to be one of the guest posters for Blog for Joy. I’m a fifteen-year-old blogger, writer, book worm, kind of a photographer, nanoer, Libra, and much more that I can’t think of right now. My favorite T.V show is Doctor Who (maybe you’ve heard of it?), my favorite books include The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Gone by Michael Grant, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and more. I like the color green and I have a pet cat and a pet pit bull (that isn’t mean at all.) I should get going, I’ll post more soon, but if you want to try to find me just go to a random high school in the United States and hope it’s the right one.
Salut,
Stacy N.

Just a little hello.

No comments:
Hello, my names Leah and my blog is called Un arc-en Vintage. When I discovered blog for joy, I really wanted to be a part of it, as I think it's a great idea. Well, here I am. I'm 15, live in the UK and love anything fashion, craft, or photography related. I'm a Gemini (yay for the gemini's!), I read way too many fashion magazines, am obsessed with The big bang theory, and I want to marry Ryan Gosling. Okay, i'll pop off again, more soon, promise! Oh, before I go, thankyou to Tuesday (WONDERFUL pen name, can I just say) for letting me join admin for Blog for joy. Tata, Leah xox

Creating Origami

No comments:
I was creating origami: I made a swan, pelican, bear, sparrow, rose, tulip, butterfly, frog, toad, dog, flower pot, Twitter bird (that's what it looked like), but I could not creat one crane. I looked at countless books at the library; the instructions were just as incomprehensible like all the others. If the Japanese could create a thousand cranes for their good health, why couldn't I create but one?

Finally, I went on YouTube, and the video showed what a paper manual could not. The gracdeful hands on the screen told me exactly what to do. I created my crane. And since have created a chain of them.

Turtle

No comments:
Kay Ryan

Who would be a turtle who could help it?
A barely mobile hard roll, a four-oared helmet,
she can ill afford the chances she must take
in rowing toward the grasses that she eats.
Her track is graceless, like dragging
a packing-case places, and almost any slope
defeats her modest hopes. Even being practical,
she's often stuck up to the axle on her way
to something edible. With everything optimal,
she skirts the ditch which would convert
her shell into a serving dish. She lives
below luck-level, never imagining some lottery
will change her load of pottery to wings.
Her only levity is patience,
the sport of truly chastened things.

Blog for Joy Jingle

1 comment:
This is an all original tune I created, so please don’t steal it (although I would be flattered if you did think it was good enough!). I think it could be the official jingle for Blog for Joy. If you know how to play piano, play it and see!

My Blanket

No comments:
Here’s a blanket my mom crocheted for me. She used all different designs, and even added a border. She bought the yarn in a big ball at Michael’s. I keep it on my bed every night. J
